Sprint and Verizon have always been bitter rivals, engaging in price wars, coverage wars, and device wars. The two use CDMA, and both have the same technologies, and they both have the same pool of phones to choose from to carry. So when Sprint announced they would be using QChat to provide the next generation of push to talk service, it only figured Verizom would as well.

Sprint will have theirs first, but they better hurry and make the market share they will need. That is because after Sprint launches QChat in 5 days, Verizon will follow in a few months. We have already seen QChat devices sporting branding from the two, and it will be a rough fight.
