A number of users at XDA-developers are reporting TomTom version 7 is including on their Touch Diamond models. The new version obviously supports the newer version 7 map sets. There is also a new “Help Me” menu that will guide you to help related services.

Of special interest is a Quick Menu, that shows a large button on screen in the map view which you can customize to have one specific function, or bring up a secondary menu with a list of customized functions of your choosing. This makes it much easier to make things more accessible, like turning the sound off or switching to night colors.

Unfortunately, TomTom 7 is still missing the ability for voice prompts to specify the side of the street for your destination. It still only announces “You have reached your destination,” which is not nearly has helpful as “Destination on the left” as iGuidance has done for years.
