‘Say Where’ Introduces Speech Recognition to iPhone
-
iPhone users would probably like to talk to their iPhones as much as they’d like to talk to their friends — that is, use speech-recognition to control the handset. An application unveiled Monday at the DEMO tech convention will do the trick.Dial Directions demonstrated how its application Say Where can recognize your speech and input it as text into web sites. You’d simply open the application, tap a site to visit and then dictate what you’re looking for. The application could come useful for looking up directions, searching for somewhere to eat and so on.

Say Where is powered by Dial Directions’ proprietary voice-entry technology for mobile services and devices. Here’s how the free Say Where application works:- Users speak into their iPhone and say any place they want, like “524 Broadway,” “hardware store,” “Delfina Pizza,” or “Golden Gate Bridge”
- Users choose a mobile site to launch

Consumers can register at www.dialdirections.com/iphone to be notified of Say Where’s availability.
