    I’m a bit surprised and disappointed to read that you consider Palringo a disastrous implementation on the iPhone.

    I believe we continue to provide the most universal,comprehensive and reliable messaging service on the iPhone.

    In addition to maintaining persistent connection (pending Apple’s introduction of push notification), we have introduced a number of enhancements since we launched at the end of July.

    Palringo continues to be the only iPhone application that not only allows one to send IM messages to the major IM platforms, but also the ability to Voice IM messages (instead of text or SMS) and picture messages (in the absence of MMS). In addition, Palringo is universal which means you can use it on your iPHone, and then return to your desktop (PC or Mac) and all of your contacts, message history will be synchronised.

    Since we launched at the end of July, we have introduced a number of enhancements based on direct user feedback. For example,

    Ability to send high-resolution album photos
    French, Polish and Russian translations
    Unread private messages now saved on exit
    Reduced network usage (we are now using compression so logging in over EDGE/GPRS/3G should be noticeably faster)
    * Support for Y! Japan
    * Support for SSL/TLS on XMPP (Jabber/GTalk)
    * Russian language translation
    * Spam filtering for non-Palringo services (MSN/ICQ/etc)
    * Ability to disable predictive input
    * Ability to set the default status to ‘Away/Busy’ when leaving Palringo (while the server keeps you connected)
    * Remembers your status on all services (MSN/ICQ/etc)

    A lot more of the changes can be seen on blogs.palringo.com/team

    We hope you will check out the current version of Palringo. of course, we always want to know what we can do better, so we are welcome to specific comments and suggestions.

    many thanks
    Kerry
