For those of us who have been hoping, asking and waiting for for a mobile version of FireFox on BlackBerry or other mobile devices like symbian or windows mobile etc . Here’s another teaser, a Google Mobile Web Browser … Here’s what the Google Team has to say about their new Web Browser: "On the surface, we designed a browser window that is streamlined and simple. Opera Mobile 9.5 beta 1 fixes notification sound bugOpera Mobile 9.5 is off to a healthy start, but like all beta software, Opera Mobile 9.5 beta has its fair share of bugs that still need to be worked out. So, to keep up with their beta-users, Opera has released their first update for Opera Mobile 9.5 beta. The beta 1 update fixes an audio bug that turns off the notifications sounds. This particular update was apparently easy enough to roll out quick and dirty style, but more significant updates are going to take a bit more time. We have updated the beta1 with a fix for the (very annoying) bug that turned off the notification sounds. The n...

Hands On with Opera Mobile 9.5!By Gadgetboy on July 17th, 2008 | No Comments
Popout Here’s the video of our hands-on with Opera Mobile 9.5 Beta. As promised, we tested in a Sprint Mogul. We left it stock, no memory optimizations on it, to try to get a good feel of how big a memory hog Opera Mobile would be. Verdict: it’s pretty darn greedy, but even so it seems to run pretty well. Here’s to hoping that this is a ‘beta’ issue. Co-WMExpert Phil Nickinson also writes in about Opera: Runs pretty well on my trusty 750 (even with EDGE only), but HOLY MEMORY HOG BATMAN! Might wanna suggest this, too, to move the cache to the storage card… ... -

Opera Mobile 9.5 is delayed until July 17By Gadgetboy on July 15th, 2008 | No Comments
From the official Opera Mobile Blog Some things in life don’t go according to plan — at least not in software development. We knew when we announced a release date before we finished development that a showstopper bug might be found that could alter the actual date we release the beta. As you can imagine, we encountered a few bugs last week that we needed to fix before we launch. Our engineering team worked through the weekend to fix the bugs. Even though our release is a beta, we’d rather spend the extra time to fix them, thus giving you a better experience. The fixes are almost comple... -
Opera 9.5 DelayedBy Gadgetboy on July 14th, 2008 | No Comments
When HTC Touch Diamond was reviewed , we noted that one of the most impressive features of the handset was its excellent web browser. The gesture support, text reformatting, and speed placed it on par with the likes of the iPhone’s Safari as one of the best mobile browsers experiences available to consumers. As it turns out, HTC is using a version of Opera’s Mobile 9.5 browser, software that was supposed to see a general public release by early July. Unfortunately, Opera has just announced that they have delayed the release of the browser until further notice July 17th. Apparently, the be... -
