  • EA mobile will be making games for Android Platform
By Gadgetboy on September 30th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
It appears the demand for top of the line mobile games is going to be huge with Android. From the demand for new cutting edge games, to the desire to have emulators that play retro games. A lot of open source fans are also avid gamers. It comes as no surprise that Glu Mobile and Namco Networks have announced their first Android games already. Due to the fact that Android Market will initially have free applications, Bonsai Blast and Pac-Man will be given away for free. EA has not yet jumped into the Android Market with their larger games because the level of design put into each game make the...
  • Game console and gps navigation system in one!
By Gadgetboy on September 22nd, 2008 | No Comments Comments
Kinwei Technologies of Shenzen is a GPS navigation system manufacturer who also loves games. Old school games. The KW-GM4306TG is a GPS navigation system and a gaming console in one. And no, this won’t replace your DS or PSP. Apparently the device only supports 8 bits games, circa 1985. It sports a 4.3-inch TFT LCD Touch screen with 480 x 272 pixels resolution, powered by a Samsung ARM9 400MHz processor. The OS is Microsoft Windows CE.NET 4.2 and you even get a crappy controller for the games. Inside there’s a 64MB SDRAM ROM and 256MB NAND flash, and a high sensitive SiRF III antenna wit...

Gameloft has recently announced a licensing agreement with Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group to develop and publish the official mobile game of the upcoming blockbuster - Death Race. Pushing the limits of the mobile racing game, Gameloft’s Death Race captures the full throttle action of the film’s dystopian world in which the most extreme racing competition has emerged and its contestants are murderous prisoners. Race in one of the film’s seven “Steel Beasts,” each one with a different play style and armed to the teeth. Armor up and throttle down for the game’s five-epis...
  • Sanyo’s Eneloop rechargeable battery packs for the Wii
By Gadgetboy on July 24th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
We love the Wii, but we hate throwing away batteries. It’s not good for the environment and it’s costing you a lot of money. That’s why Sanyo is offering the Eneloop charging station with a battery pack replacement for your Wii remote and a charging base that holds up to four controllers. Your remotes will charge in 220 minutes and the cool thing is that they charge in order, one after another so you don’t have to wait to play. It’s priced at $73 and is an import, but I’d be surprised if this didn’t show up in North America very soon. Go get the calculator and add up how muc...

    By Gadgetboy on July 15th, 2008 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments
In the quest to reign the world of home entertainment streaming, partnering with Microsoft to provide your movie download service on Xbox 360 is definitely a good move. In fact, it’s a safe bet that a good percentage of potential set top box owners are already packing an Xbox 360 and for these guys you’re practically a shoo in. Netflix, of course, is the lucky winner here. Showcased at a Microsoft roundtable event held yesterday, Netflix’s Xbox 360 streaming service was actually quite impressive. Movies and TV episodes added to the Netflix queue (this still has to be done on a PC for ...
  • Video: ‘LEGO Batman’ trailer
By Gadgetboy on July 15th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
Popout Here’s some footage from the LEGO Batman game that’s set to hit various platforms in September. You can play as the good guys or the bad guys. Speaking of bad guys, Killer Moth and Mad Hatter were recently revealed to be part of the game. Never heard of them, but I did have a killer moth destroy a pair of my corduroy pants a few years ago, so I’m guessing the Batman version is at least equally disruptive. Share and Enjoy: ...

  • Nintendo Game & Watch collectors poked, prodded, exposed
By Gadgetboy on July 5th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
When their moms told them that they needed hobbies, collecting Nintendo Game & Watch machines was probably not what they had in mind. We’re not about to judge Andy Cole or Michael Panayiotakis, two collectors who have all 60 Game & Watch handhelds ever produced. New in box. Untouched by human hands. So why did they do it? Because they could, we suppose. In an interview by DS Fanboy, the two Game & Watch collectors are deconstructed and investigated, revealing such nuggets as once spending $1,200 on a boxed Super Mario Bros. Special Edition, keeping their products out of the...
