400,000 Android Phones to be sold before 2008 end?By Gadgetboy on September 21st, 2008 | No Comments
Market research group Strategy Analytics are estimating that Google, together with T-Mobile will be able to sell around 400,000 units before the end of the quarter. This would account for around 4% of all smartphones sold during that period. That’s kind of huge for a first quarter in the market. Executive Director Chris Ambrosio, of Strategy Analytics said: “Google has the brand power in the USA to make a big impact at launch. The main issue will be operator subsidies. As seen with the iPhone and smart devices in general, retail prices need to be well below $200 to be competitive. Longe... -

Google shows off polished Android in LondonBy Gadgetboy on September 16th, 2008 | No Comments
Google’s Developer Day in London was home to the latest demonstration of the search giant’s Android mobile OS. Just as we saw with previous Android demonstrations , Google showed off their mobile platform on what looks to be an HTC Dream G1 with an ever so lightly disguised mug. A few bits of tape on the otherwise black handset isn’t exactly a first-class camouflage job, and there’s little doubt that the Android handset on display was indeed an HTC Dream G1. The Android OS that Google showed off in London was decidedly more polished than what we’ve seen in previous demonstration vi... -

Popout With the recent leak of the HTC Touch Viva , some people were wondering whether its (rumored) 200 MHz processor would be able to handle HTC’s TouchFLO 3D interface. As the story goes on, it seems that HTC has created a new less processor intensive version called TouchFLO 2D, which features most of the benefits of TouchFLO 3D.
