Rulerphone iPhone Application is very good!

September 4th, 2008 by Gadgetboy | No Comments | Filed in Apple, Applications

Measure anything your iPhone can take a picture of!  RulerPhone uses the iPhone’s built-in camera and a credit card-sized item to turn the device into a measuring tape. Unlike the ruler-inspired iPhone applications released already, RulerPhone uses named card as a reference to measuring anything in the frame. It’s a great on-the-go tool for apartment-hunters, furniture-buyers, or anyone requiring a quick measurement.

Nothing too exciting, but everyone always likes the raggity circular images, not sure why. Anyway, Best Buy will start selling the iPhone 3G September 7th, as previously stated here. They’re the first independent retailer to carry the iPhone and for Apple’s sake hopefully they’ll reach an untapped socioeconomic demo.

Apple has argued that the claim referred to the availability of web pages, rather than their specific appearance.

iPhone 3G starting at $700 in India, there will be no lines for sure!

August 20th, 2008 by Gadgetboy | No Comments | Filed in Apple, Breaking News

Heart breaking stuff this early in the morning. I just received a confirmation from Vodafone that their iPhone 3G will come for no less than Rs 31,000 and Rs 36,100 for th 8GB and 16GB versons respectively. Yup, that’s approximately $700 and $825, which probably will be the most expensive iPhone 3Gs on any carrier in the world. In all probability, the iPhone 3G will be priced the same on Airtel as well. (Update : Airtel has indeed announced the same prices. Click here for details .) Subscribers who had pre-booked the iPhone 3G on Vodafone can pay an advance of Rs 10,000 either today or tomorrow to break the queues. Well, with a price tag like this, we ain’t sure if there will be that long a queue anywhere.
