July 26th, 2008 by Gadgetboy | No Comments | Filed in Apple, Peripherals, Portable Audio
Here’s another iPod speaker are your disposal that hooks on to your iPod Nano, Classic or Touch. The Neoneco Swing speakers from Korea provides (ear-splitting) sound at a battery life of 10 hours, which seems good enough for a YouTube and video addict like me. It’s got a separate power source, which is okay, but I think the Snap on concept is pretty cool. Unfortunately it sells only in Korea and hasn’t entered the US markets as yet. You can get rid of your dangling wires with the Nano, Classic or Touch for $29, $32 and $36 respectively. Via - NewlaunchesRefurbrished iPod touch on sale for $199/8GB and $299/16GB
July 25th, 2008 by Gadgetboy | No Comments | Filed in Apple, Applications, Portable AudioSure, you’ll get one free if you by a new Mac this summer, but if you’re not in the market for a new computer this might be the deal you’ve been waiting for. Apple has knocked $50 of their regular pricing for refurbished iPod Touch models. The special pricing applies to both the 8GB and 16GB versions, bringing the price down to $199 for the base model and $299 for the 16 GB. Not a bad deal at all. There have been rumors floating around of an updated/cheaper iPod Touch on the horizon, so we wouldn’t be surprised if Apple is trying to clear out stock before introducing a new model. No telling how long this will last, so hit the link now if you’re interested!

Everyone had been quite happy with the iPhone and the iPod but some needed something extra. This little something extra comes in the form of iCarPlay 250 FM transmitter. This transmitter can be used to connect iPhone and iPod to receive FM signals. ICarPlay 250 FM transmitter is very different from the average iPod FM transmitter. The AutoScan facility which comes with this beauty will automatically scan all the FM networks to find which works the clearest with your iPod and will also display the station information on the iPod screen too.
The device allows you to charge your iPod or your iPhone from the car outlet or the USB port. It has a frequency adaptive audio output, a blue LCD display, low profile power adapter and also an elegant simple look. If you are a fan of either the iPod or the iPhone, you are simply going to love this supremely useful and good product. It is priced at $99.95 and is well worth the money.

iWoofer, a better option for iPod speakers
June 13th, 2008 by Gadgetboy | No Comments | Filed in Peripherals, Portable Audio
iPod has inspired accessory designers like none. Rain Design, who usually design ergonomial products such as the iLap, has unveiled the iWoofer speaker system which functions as a USB dock for newer iPod models. It includes an FM tuner if you ever get tired of your music collection. iWoofer which has two tiny 30-mm drivers and a 2.5 inch subwoofer, has an amazing quality of sound and can shock your colleagues at work when you suddenly decide to listen to Megadeth. The bass isn’t especially great but for a speaker of its size its more than enough.
You can charge your iPod with this thing of the future and let it update too while docked via the USB cable. However, some people feel it is too steeply priced and you could get better speakers for a much lower price. Complaints about the AC adapter have been doing the rounds too. Nevertheless, it looks great and it is a great buy if you love your iPod and are willing to spend $129.
