  • HTC Touch Diamond Supports Multi Touch?
By Gadgetboy on August 20th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
Popout A video is making its rounds on the internet, showing that HTC’s Touch Diamond is capable of supporting multi touch, via the debug application. While this doesn’t translate into anything practical yet, it’s still nice to know that the Touch Diamond can support multi touch, and hopefully HTC will implement such a feature through a firmware update or in newer models. ...
  • Customized OpenMoko Phone
By Gadgetboy on August 2nd, 2008 | No Comments Comments
When OpenMoko struck a deal with Koolu, they sure meant business. While the OpenMoko Neo FreeRunner hasn’t been released for more than a few weeks, there is already a customized version of it called the W.E. Phone. The main difference between these 2 phones is that the W. E. Phone comes bundled with custom Google applications, and comes in a rather interesting set of colors, which include a tartan-weave plaid case that so happens to spell “Debian” in Morse Code. The phone may be geeky and all, but just don’t mistake it for a Google Android phone, because it isn’t. ...
  • Australian Customers to get Bold for free
By Gadgetboy on July 28th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
Both Telstra and Vodafone will be offering the BlackBerry Bold to Australian enterprise customers for $0 up front. That in and of itself is a bold statement, and definitely a bargain for enterprises still packing older models. It’ll be hard for CIOs to turn down a deal like that, regardless of any growing enterprise interest in the iPhone. Maybe companies here in North America and elsewhere can look forward to equally aggressive moves from carriers, especially if they think they can coast on plans alone. (via Australian IT) ...

By Gadgetboy on June 3rd, 2008 | No Comments Comments
The Windows Mobile 6.1 train is rolling steadily by now, and it is a good thing too. With all the new features that are loaded in the new OS, and Sprint’s promise to load Windows Mobile 6.1 on all its Windows Mobile 6 devices, it is about time that they get going on it. That is just what they have done too, with the announcement that Motorola is officially providing the upgrade. There are a number of aesthetic and performance enhancements in Windows Mobile 6.1. • RoverPC’s P7: Nice handset, shame about the air interface
By Gadgetboy on June 1st, 2008 | No Comments Comments
RoverPC rolls out the next in its cleverly named line of devices as an update to the RoverPc p6, called — yeah, you guessed it — the RoverPC P7. While the aesthetic for this Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro device has certainly gotten a big push, and the specs are looking dandy, it seems that our friend 3G was left behind. Though all isn’t lost handset lovers as it boasts a 416MHz CPU, a 2.8-inch touchscreen, WiFi, Bluetooth, microSD memory slot, and a pretty middling 2 megapixel camera. No word on when we might expect this to land — though the where is looking like Russia ̵...
  • HTC Touch Diamond unboxed, packaging worthy of the phone
By Gadgetboy on May 16th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
Nothing new to report on the Touch Diamond’s tech here, but wow, look how fun the box is! Of course, we know you’re all waiting to see what they stuffed in the wedge-shaped package, and the answer is a charger, headset, USB cable, a manual or two, and the software. The charger appears to be a universal job with a swappable plug for travel, and the headset a typical example of an HTC pack-in — albeit with a dash of fun and angular design. • Symbian: “Android’s stupid and for babies and dumb heads.”
By Gadgetboy on May 14th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
Nokia and Symbian were behind school yesterday and Nokia was smoking cloves and Symbian was reading some book and then Nokia as all like “Did you see what Google did?” and Symbian was like “Uh huh Whatdafuk?” and Nokia was all like “Garr garrr I’m Androad” and Symbian was all like “I’m Anchoad” and then Symbian was like: “About every three months this year there has been a mobile Linux initiative of some sort launched. “It’s a bit like the common cold. It keeps coming round and then we go back to business. We don’t participate in these full stop. We make our own pl...
