  • White T-Mobile G1 Available After Thanksgiving
By Gadgetboy on November 17th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
The elusive white G1, rumored to have been recalled due to paint chipping, is not expected for a launch at least until after the Thanksgiving holiday. I know this might not come as a shock to most considering the amount of chatter about the release date for the phone that spreads across numerous discussion forums. This is a little delayed I grant you that, this article was supposed to post a number of days ago but circumstances of course wouldn’t allow for that. The bronze G1 has been temporarily removed from my-tmobile due to you know, a lot of people ordering it. Expect to see its return...

The sources even pointed out that HTC is actually under...
  • T-Mobile Becomes Less Budget, Increases Price on Data Plans
By Gadgetboy on October 27th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
Before T-Mobile customers start cheering for the long-awaited 3G services which began rolling out earlier this year , they might want to stop and think twice as rumors surface that T-Mobile plans to increase their data packages as early as the beginning of November. The cost of supporting the 3G network is now being passed on to consumers. Some people will not be affected, such as Blackberry users who want unlimited data and unlimited messaging. Included among some of the changes is a data cap for T-Mobile Shadow users, at 50 MB and 100 MB respectively. Current T-Mobile customers who are plan...

  • Tmobile might open up the Tzones soon
By Gadgetboy on September 26th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
T-Mobile director of handset innovation Saj Sahar hinted earlier this week that T-Mobile T-zones would be relaunched and rebranded into something similar to “Web n’ Walk”. Available only in Europe, Web n’ Walk allows full Internet access on any T-Mobile phone. Novel concept, huh? Novel at least for T-Mobile who, as part of their T-Zones service, blocks certain ports on its branded phones in order to force users to use only the standard xHTML browser included on the phone. For those T-Mobile folks who have suffered through this crippled web experience, an overhaul and an opening up o...
  • 400,000 Android Phones to be sold before 2008 end?
By Gadgetboy on September 21st, 2008 | No Comments Comments
Market research group Strategy Analytics are estimating that Google, together with T-Mobile will be able to sell around 400,000 units before the end of the quarter. This would account for around 4% of all smartphones sold during that period. That’s kind of huge for a first quarter in the market. Executive Director Chris Ambrosio, of Strategy Analytics said: “Google has the brand power in the USA to make a big impact at launch. The main issue will be operator subsidies. As seen with the iPhone and smart devices in general, retail prices need to be well below $200 to be competitive. Longe...
  • Google shows off polished Android in London
By Gadgetboy on September 16th, 2008 | No Comments Comments
Google’s Developer Day in London was home to the latest demonstration of the search giant’s Android mobile OS. Just as we saw with previous Android demonstrations , Google showed off their mobile platform on what looks to be an HTC Dream G1 with an ever so lightly disguised mug. A few bits of tape on the otherwise black handset isn’t exactly a first-class camouflage job, and there’s little doubt that the Android handset on display was indeed an HTC Dream G1. The Android OS that Google showed off in London was decidedly more polished than what we’ve seen in previous demonstration vi...
